Raviv Ganchrow

_PhD Candidate

Raviv Ganchrow completed his architectural studies at The Cooper Union, New York and sonic studies at the Institute of Sonology, University of the Arts, The Hague. His work researches the interdependencies between sound, place, and listening, aspects of which are examined through writing, installations, and the development of pressure-forming and vibration-sensing technologies. Recent explorations into the context-dependent sites of hearing have been examined through international sound commissions and lectures at large. Research undertaken in the Borders and Territories framework investigates the contextual agency of sound through its situated (physical / geographical / historical / socio-technical) locales and spatio-material dynamics. Ganchrow has been teaching architectural design and sound research in various graduate and undergraduate programs and is currently a faculty member at the Institute of Sonology, University of the Arts, The Hague.
